I have been thinking about blogging about my teaching experiences and sharing my knowledge with other teachers, especially is this crazy education transition time to Common Core. I was also encouraged to make my materials available, so I started this blog as well as opened a store in Teachers Pay Teachers.
Let me introduce myself –
1 – I have been a teacher for over ten years. Before that I was a Project Manager for a software company.
2 – I have taught at the same school, mainly math for 2nd-4th graders, though I have also taught 6-7th grade math.
3 – Our school values experience and real-life authentic learning, using projects and hands-on activities.
4 – We have always wanted our students to be critical-thinkers, problem-solvers, collaborators, and communicators.
5 – Our school has embraced Common Core, as it dovetails our philosophy.
So I am excited to start working together!

PS Oh, you are probably wondering how I got my nickname, EMW? Well one year a creative boy put on a skit for our talent show, and had a character called Evil Math Wizard, I adopted it, but I’m definitely not Evil, just magical.
