Math Log – Fractions Day 3

By emwadmin

Today I had my students get their fraction kit out (made in day 2), and we listed all the fraction equivalents for 1/2 on the whiteboard.

1/2 = 2/4, 4/8 = 1/2, 8/16 = 1/2, etc.

1We then talked about what patterns we see. And we realized that the numerator is half of the denominator. We then listed a bunch of other 1/2s, even 500,000/1,000,000.

I introduced a new station – fraction match.

1 (1)

These are old sets of matching cards I have had forever. So they first needed to pair the cards up to make sure all the cards were there (that was a lot of learning right there!).
