Last Day!
I think we can set aside learning about Place Value for awhile. We spent over two weeks and I feel we have a good grasp, though I will be doing a little assessment next week to double-check.
We started with this discussion, “What do we know about Place Value?” And I let everyone talk some ideas out, and then I called on each student. They did really well! We had a question about google, so one student decided to find out about it and present his findings next week. I really need to work on my whiteboard handwriting.
After our discussion, everyone went to whatever station to complete their assignments. At the end of math time, I showed my slideshow of numbers (that I did earlier), but this time instead of saying 9085, we added ten and said 9095. It was fun! I can always bring this up, and do different activities, like add 100 or subtract 10.
